Sagias Department of Informatics & Telecommunications University of Peloponnese, Greece. Dr. G. G. Md. Nawaz Ali Assistant Professor and Curriculum Committee Chair Dept. of Computer Science and Information Systems Bradley University, USA. Dr. Michele Roccotelli Assistant Professor, Politecnico di Bari, Italy Dr. Giuseppe Caso Senior Lecturer Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Karlstad University, Sweden Manuscript submission information: Energy-efficient routing algorithms in 5G-enabled VANETs offer benefits but face challenges. One key issue is the trade-off between energy savings and communication latency, as these algorithms may select suboptimal routes, causing delays, which is critical in real-time applications like autonomous driving. High computational complexity is another drawback, as real-time decisions based on dynamic vehicle locations can strain network nodes. Frequent topology changes due to vehicle mobility may lead to route breaks and packet loss, impacting network reliability. Additionally, balancing energy efficiency with quality of service (QoS) and the higher initial costs of implementation pose further challenges. The issue will explore innovative solutions that reduce energy consumption while maintaining the high-speed, low latency communication required for real-time applications, such as autonomous driving and intelligent transportation systems. Topics may include the trade-offs between energy savings and quality of service, the integration of AI for dynamic routing, and the impact of sustainable communication protocols on network performance and environmental sustainability. Potential topics included, but not limited, Machine learning-based routing in 5G-VANETs for reducing power consumption of real time communications Dynamic energy-efficient routing algorithms in high-mobility VANETs for real time communication Cross-layer energy optimization in 5G-enabled VANETs for optimization of energy use of real-time communication Energy-efficient routing in 5G-enabled networks for V2X communications AI-Powered predictive routing in energy-efficient VANETs for high network reliability Energy-efficient multi-hop routing in dense urban VANETs for data transmission and vehicle-to-network interactions Sustainable routing protocols in 5G VANETs for electric vehicle battery usage and reduction of energy consumption Green routing protocols in hybrid VANETs for renewable energy integration and vehicular communication system Energy-aware secure routing in 5G-enabled VANETs for real-time decision of autonomous vehicles SI Proposal Form Energy-efficient multi-criteria routing in VANETs for safety-critical applications Tentative Schedule: Paper Submission Deadline : February 25, 2026 Revised Submission Deadline: May 30, 2026 Final Acceptance Deadline: June 30, 2026
