Special Issue on China Multimedia 2025
Submission Date: 2026-01-31

The field of multimedia has seen significant advancements in recent years, fueled by innovations in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. These developments have changed how we communicate, analyze, and generate multimedia content, affecting various industries such as healthcare, education, entertainment, and social media. Despite these advancements, several challenges persist in multimedia communication and analysis. For example, how can we ensure low latency and real-time communication in applications like live streaming and video conferencing? How can we effectively manage dynamic multimedia data, handle incomplete data from different modalities, and address noise in multimedia content? Furthermore, how can we ensure that generated content is realistic and creative? These questions highlight the ongoing complexities in this evolving field. This special issue aims to provide a platform for researchers to share their latest advancements in multimedia analysis. It seeks to showcase cutting-edge research and innovative solutions that tackle the challenges of multi-modal data processing, efficient communication, and intelligent generation of multimedia content. We invite contributions that explore novel methodologies, practical applications, and theoretical frameworks to help overcome these challenges and shape the future of multimedia technologies. We invite original and high-quality papers including but not limited to: Multimedia Encoding and Decoding Multimedia data mining and pattern recognition Multimedia signal processing and analysis Multimedia retrieval Deep Learning for multimedia Multimedia content transmission Multimedia data compression and transmission optimization Multimedia communication and networking Large Multi-Modal Models for multimedia analysis Explainable multimedia content generation Multimedia content generation Multimedia application.
