Special Issue on Selected Papers from Biosensors 2025 - the World Congress on Biosensors
截稿日期: 2026-01-31

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research, and Sensors and Actuators Reports will be publishing a Special Issue across three titles for 35rd Anniversary World Congress on Biosensors (Biosensors 2025). Authors whose abstracts have been accepted and the corresponding presentation (oral or poster) has been done at Biosensors 2025 will be invited to submit a Review Article or a Full-length manuscript for consideration of publication in a special issue devoted to the Congress in Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Sensing and Biosensing Research Or Sensors and Actuators Reports. Guest editors: Professor Arben Merkoçi Email: arben.merkoci@icn2.cat Affiliation: Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Barcelona, Spain Professor Koji Sode Email: ksode@email.unc.edu Affiliation: UNC Chapel Hill & NCSU, Chapel Hill, United States Professor Man Bock Gu Email: mbgu@korea.ac.kr Affiliation: Korea University, Seoul, Republic of Korea Special issue information: The World Congress on Biosensors is the largest and most well-established conference in the field, attracting more than a thousand attendees from industry, academe and government organisations. For more than 30 years, this meeting has lead this ever-expanding area further. Biosensors harness the exquisite recognition capabilities of biological systems and combine them with physicochemical transducers to deliver simple, easy to use diagnostic systems for an ever-expanding range of applications to improve health, wellbeing and the environment. We are delighted to bring this year’s Congress to Portugal, when we introduce, share and acknowledge the world most exciting academic and industrial information and knowledge about biosensors.

Special Issue on Integrative Microscopy and Spectroscopy Techniques for Bio-sensing and Diagnostic Applications
截稿日期: 2026-03-01

Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research will be launching a Special Issue in September 2025, which accepts research on optical microscopy and spectroscopy methods applied to biological sensing, including real-time, label-free, and computational approaches for diagnostics. Guest editor: Dr. Pietro Ricci Email: ricci@lens.unifi.it Affiliation: University of Florence, Florence, Italy Special issue information: Recent advances in integrative microscopy and spectroscopy are reshaping the landscape of biosensing and diagnostic technologies. This Special Issue “Integrative Microscopy and Spectroscopy Techniques for Bio-sensing and Diagnostic Applications” focuses on novel optical approaches that enable high-resolution, label-free, and real-time analysis of biological systems. Emphasis is placed on the development and integration of techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence lifetime imaging, hyperspectral microscopy, and optical coherence tomography, as well as their hybridization with microfluidics and machine learning. Importantly, the focus is on how these technologies contribute to active biological sensing, where optical signals are not simply acquired but interpreted to extract meaningful biological information. This includes, for instance, the identification of disease-related biomarkers through spectral fingerprints, the quantification of cellular responses via image-based metrics, or the continuous monitoring of physiological changes in living systems. The Special Issue welcomes contributions that demonstrate how microscopy and spectroscopy become sensing tools coupled with advanced signal processing, pattern recognition, or computational interpretation. The goal is to showcase integrative systems that move beyond instrumentation, offering real diagnostic insight in biomedical and life science applications. Manuscript submission information: You are invited to submit your manuscript at any time before the submission deadline. For any inquiries about the appropriateness of contribution topics, please contact the Guest Editor. The journal’s submission platform (Editorial Manager®) will be available for receiving submissions to this Special Issue from 1 September 2025. Please refer to the Guide for Authors to prepare your manuscript and select the article type of "VSI: Optics for Bio-sensing" when submitting your manuscript online. Both the Guide for Authors and the submission portal could be found on the Journal Homepage here: http://www.elsevier.com/locate/issn/2214-1804. Submission deadline: 1 March 2026 Keywords: Optical biosensing; Biomedical spectroscopy; Diagnostic imaging; Multimodal sensing; Bioanalytical signal processing; Non-invasive diagnostics; Photonic diagnostic technologies
